Reconnect with cloud-based visibility of all aspects of your heat network.
Our Solution - Visible Heat Networks.
We have teamed up with Minibems, an Exeter based software controls company, to provide demand management for communal heating systems.
Our Heat Interface Units and their technology allows us to measure, bill, diagnose and improve the efficiency, over time, of a communal heating and hot water scheme.
Using data from cloud-based controls, Minibems' building energy management system is able to respond dynamically to both building and weather conditions to reduce energy consumption.
Real-time and historical data can be accessed remotely from Minibems’ dedicated management dashboards, enabling advanced network monitoring, control and optimisation.
- Full network visibility
- Outstanding control authority through electronic feedback
- Dynamic temperature control
- Weather compensation*
- Reduced operating and return temperatures
- Remote monitoring and fault diagnosis
- Built-in metering
*Outside temperature sensor required
Giacomini's CIBSE Certified Heat Network Consultants are able to advise on the efficient design of heat networks and provide guidance towards achieving compliance with CIBSE Code of Practice for Heat Networks CP1 2015.
In order to meet the most stringent international standards, Giacomini’s manufacturing facilities in Italy have obtained integrated quality, health & safety and environment certifications, in accordance with standards UNE-EN ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and EN ISO 14001.
For ease of installation the G6 Minibems is pre-configured before arriving on site.
We can support the commissioning of units remotely, or arrange for commissioning via our installer network. Once complete, individual commissioning certificates are digitally produced for each unit.
Minibems have developed a fully functional credit and pre-payment billing solution, with cash, internet, bank and mobile payment capabilities. Software integration with existing service providers is also available.*

Heat networks can be various sizes and serve various combinations of building types (e.g. dwellings, commercial & public buildings). Currently around 55% of the UK's 12,000GWh heat network load is supplied to the domestic sector, with around 45% supplying non-domestic loads (military, education, emergency services, health, offices, plus art, leisure and community sectors)*.
"There are over 17,000 heat networks in the UK, of which approximately 5,500 are district heat networks and 11,500 are communal heat networks. This equates to around 492,000 connections in total, including 446,517 domestic customers, 33,273 commercial customers, 4,670 retail customers, 320 light industrial customers, 1,456 universities and school and a further 4,865 mixed use networks."
